'Contract for Life' is a presentation aimed at students in year 11 or above. It is an emotive interactive presentation produced by Somerset Road Safety and delivered by firefighters and police officers from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
The aim of the presentation is to highlight the consequences of a collision, not only to a driver, but also to innocent victims such as pedestrians, passengers and other road users.
Incorporating a graphic DVD depicting the aftermath of a real crash, uniformed officers from the police and fire service appear in person to describe their roles following a serious collision.
The '2 Soon 2 Die' presentation is aimed at students in year 10 and is delivered by police officers and firefighters either jointly or as individuals.
The presentation aims to show how passenger behaviour can have a major impact on a driver. The target age group are reaching a time where it is important for them to understand the consequences of inappropriate behaviour in cars.
'Route 60+' is an innovative new presentation aimed at senior drivers, with the aim to address not only how vehicles have changed over the years but also how our own driving skills and habits may have changed and how we can go about updating those skills.
The presentation lasts approximately 50 minutes and there are opportunities to talk to police officers, firefighters and members of the road safety team. Refreshments are available and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
