Ghost Street

An innovative workshop designed to help teenagers make informed decisions about road safety, whilst not reducing their freedom or independence.

Traffic is the single biggest cause of accidental death for 12 to 16 year-olds and yet teenagers still expect freedom and independence to make choices. Sadly, they are often over confident and lack awareness of the hazards on the road.

This innovative workshop package, developed by Newcastle City Council, equips year eight students with the skills and awareness to handle dangerous or unfamiliar situations on the road. Key topics covered are distractions, seatbelts, cycle safety and speed. Each of these areas is backed-up by facts and discussion points aimed specifically at getting the students to talk about the issues.

If you are a year eight teacher and you feel your students would benefit from this free, one-hour, highly interactive workshop, please contact Somerset Road Safety on 01823 423430 or click here to email.
